La Cosecha

La Cosecha  ("the harvest") is an affiliated project, originally developed by two first year Emory PA students, and funded through a small grant from the PA Foundation/AAPA. La Cosecha seeks to connect the communities of farmworkers in south Georgia to the church and civic communities in the metro-Atlanta area. This connection consists of outreach by Emory PA students and faculty to local organizations, seeking clothing donations and providing education to these communities about the needs of Georgia's farmworkers. In addition, this represents an opportunity to further educate the public about the role and mission of Physician Assistants.

Since the June 1999 project, each summer a truck load (see below) of clothing has been collected and distributed among the various camp sites.
