Similar trends in patient demographics have been noted in Decatur County.
The project has seen increasing numbers of workers of Haitian
heritage. This may relate to the Project's increased number of interpreters for
this population.
More workers report having had health care in the last year. Anecdotally, many of these workers were seen by the Project in the previous year. Services for the farmworker population have also increased at the Decatur County Health Department. Finally, the increased number of Haitian workers may impact this statistic, as many of these workers winter in Florida, and may have more established systems of support there.
